My Etsy Story
I actually started learning how to make jewelry when my mom did about 6 years ago. We were both self-taught, so I'm still learning. The internet and blogs have been an amazing resource to learn more and to stay inspired. I always just made jewelry as a hobby and would make my friends necklaces or bracelets for their birthdays. I've been unemployed for a while now and after about 7 months of searching for work, I realized that I need to have a way of making money while I'm searching, so I started an Etsy shop. Unfortunately right now I have an injured right wrist so I can't really do the little fiddly work that jewelry making requires until it heals. I started learning to embroider while I'm waiting for it to heal, so I'll actually have some framed embroidered pieces in my shop before too long, and I'm really excited about that. Here's a preview of one.

I like that! Is embroidering hard / tedious? I've wanted to give it a stab (aha) for a while but I'm so afraid it won't hold my attention.
ReplyDeleteIt's more something that is good to do while watching television or a movie. You don't have to think about it much, unless the thread gets accidentally knotted and then it's annoying.
