If you don't care about football, you should probably either skip this post or just watch the video.
As you probably know by now, the Seattle Seahawks won their first Super Bowl on Sunday. And I am a big Seahawks fan, so it kind of doesn't seem real yet. It feels more like I dreamed it. Especially since the Super Bowl victory was sooooo much easier than the NFC championship game.
And after the victory, Seattle went crazy. And since I live pretty much on Greek Row, and am surrounded by frats and sororities, going crazy means the Greek system kids lit couches on fire in the street (as you can see in the above video that I filmed from my front porch). They started four separate fires, with the cops and a fire truck showing up every time to put the fire out. In this video it's the fourth fire and there are two couches and three mattresses ablaze. Plus there were a bunch of cops in riot gear standing in the street right in front of my house, which was pretty cool, since they didn't have scary guns out, only nightsticks which they didn't use. I'm really surprised none of the frat kids got arrested, actually. They were actually smart enough not to mess with the cops.
These cops and about 8 others meant serious business. They just stood around looking menacing.
This weekend I went to G's and cooked a lot of yummy food. Since being diagnosed with celiac disease, I have gotten a lot more confident in my cooking skills, since I have to cook a lot more or become a bunny rabbit and just eat fresh fruits and veggies. I successfully (and by successfully, I mean G loved it too and said it was restaurant-worthy) cooked corn pasta and hot dogs with veggies, chicken wraps on corn tortillas (gluten-free but not as expensive as fancy gluten-free tortillas), and omelets with the leftover chicken, green peppers, onion, and mushrooms.
I watched two football games and three movies. The University of Washington Huskies won and didn't get scored on once! And the Seattle Seahawks won too. I got a new Seahawks shirt from the men's section at the mall. They had women's ones but none of them had the player's names or numbers on them. I got a Russell Wilson shirt. I wanted Marshawn Lynch, but they were all sold out except for size XL. We watched the Seahawks game at Roosevelt Ale House, which is a truly amazing bar because it serves delicious gluten-free food. So far I've had a delicious breakfast sandwich there, a good burger, and amazing and ginormous nachos. All of the food I've tried there has been really good, but I don't think I would order the burger again. For burgers, my go-to restaurant is Blue Moon Burgers. They are good burgers period, not just good for being gluten-free.
We got some movies from Redbox: World War Z, Now You See Me, and Olympus Has Fallen. Have you noticed how many movies have Morgan Freeman in them lately?! I've seen three recently that had him: World War Z, Oblivion, and Olympus Has Fallen. World War Z was pretty great, and not just because I love zombie movies. I really enjoyed it and I especially liked the look of the zombies. They didn't look like their flesh was rotting right after being bit. They were also fast zombies, which I'm not a huge fan of. I give it a 4 out of 5. Now You See Me was really good. It kept me guessing the whole time. It had a really original story (as far as I know) and a good cast. Plus Jesse Eisenberg was in it, but not as the goof-off guy who never grows up, which was refreshing from him. I give it a 4 out of 5 as well. Olympus Has Fallen was better than G or I thought it would be. It was the one I thought I might not like, but it was actually okay. It was very action-y with lots of shooting and politics, but the story was pretty good anyway. I give it a 3 out of 5.
We also watched The Office and The League on Netflix, which are always favorites of mine. All in all it was a good weekend.
And in other news, my boss told me today that she's looking for another person to help out at work, which is fantastic and will hopefully relieve a lot of my stress.
It all started out okay. Well okay-ish anyway. We watched football, the Washington Huskies on Saturday and the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. Neither game was very impressive. Our teams are not playing like they could. A few players were giving a full 100% but most of them were playing at more like 90% of their skill at the most. I feel like the Huskies were so intimidated by the fact that we were playing the number three team and everyone thought we would lose that we did lose, quite horribly. It wasn't even enjoyable to watch, we got beat so badly. The Seahawks managed to score two touchdowns in the entire game, but the refs didn't count one of them. It's not like we would have won anyway. Then we watched Animation Domination on Fox on Sunday night and it was hilarious, as always, especially The Simpsons. On Sunday we got Taco Bell and I forgot that the Cantina Bowl existed until after we got back, so I didn't get to try it yet. Then on Monday I stayed home from work because I had a high fever and was puking. I mostly slept a lot and G was super sweet and came home to check on me on his lunch break. Luckily it was just a 24 hour thing so I went back to work on Tuesday. Work is going pretty well. When I stay at G's, I have to transfer busses twice during the day and for some reason the first bus was 10 minutes early twice, so G had to give me a ride to where I caught the other bus. There's this girl who rides the second bus who always wears really cool clothes and she has a really cool haircut (It's a white pixie cut) and I always want to compliment her on her awesome fashion but she always has headphones in, so I never do. So that's pretty much what's happened in my life lately. I haven't even managed to put stuff how I want it in my room yet. I did put up a few pieces of art and my jewelry. Priorities, you know.
With the changing of the seasons come changes to my blog. Did you see that nifty ad box in my blog's upper right corner? That's here to stay now. And, depending on its success, more ad boxes might join it. In other news, I'm going to start taking this "I'm a freelance graphic designer" thing seriously. I ordered some business cards today, 100 of them. There was this promotional deal where I got them for free and just had to pay shipping. In hindsight, I should have probably made my company website first, but oh well. So yeah, I run my own company now. It's called Honeybee Designs and I plan to create my new website for free using Blogger, so you guys will be the first ones to know once that's up and running. G and I are really starting to get into the holiday spirit. Mainly because it's nearly freezing out lately, 40 degrees F. So yesterday we bought pumpkin ice cream and ate it while cuddling under blankets watching movies. Two movies we watched over the weekend that were both really good and are on Netflix, that you should totally watch, but I'm not going to review them properly right now, since this blogpost is going to be long enough without it, are Paper Man and Cherry. Paper Man is one of my new favorite movies. And Cherry is also pretty fantastic. So watch those.
In football, the Washington Huskies got their butts thoroughly kicked by Stanford Cardinal this past weekend. Let's just say we lost by over 30 points and leave it at that. Seattle Seahawks and Cleveland Browns played a game of who sucks slightly less on Sunday. Nobody scored a touchdown, but the Browns beat the Seahawks 6-3. Truly pathetic. Sidenote: in my mind, today is Monday. Because G took the week off to work on his paper for his master's degree and I've been staying at his house until today. I helped him transcribe his entire 48 minute long video for his paper. It took me significantly longer than 48 minutes.
The other big news is that I am going to start reselling thrift store clothing and stuff on eBay in an attempt to make some extra money. It was G's idea, since he always marvels at the things I find for so cheap at thrift stores, and he hasn't even seen the little black dress I got on my last trip yet. So I plan to list all of the clothing I don't wear and use whatever money I make off of that as capital to buy more stuff to resell. I'll blog about how that goes, of course.
In other news, I received my E.L.F. order today and I'm really excited about that. Like I said, I'll review one product from that every once in a while on here, so you can expect to see lots more pictures of me in the future.

I've been MIA for a few days. I had the most awful migraine headache EVER for three days straight. G was starting to get worried about me and started tossing around words like brain tumor and brain aneurysm, which started making me feel pretty worried too. But he talked to his mom, who is a nurse, and she said it's most likely just a migraine, and if I start having other symptoms with it to see a doctor, but for now just to take some ibuprofen and try to sleep it off. So that was Wednesday through Friday. I felt quite a bit better on Saturday and had just the tail end of the migraine hanging on, but I took some more ibuprofen and it let go by game time. Which was great, since I got to watch the Washington Huskies thoroughly stomp the Colorado Buffaloes 52-24. We are now 5-1. Washington Huskies are now a ranked team, number 22 in the AP ranking. We take on number 7 ranked Stanford Cardinal, who has had an undefeated season so far, on Saturday. It's certainly going to be interesting.
Now my allergies are being ridiculous, but other than that I'm feeling great.

I always hear people talking about their stuff and I just assume it's some sort of brand that I can't afford. But I stumbled upon their website yesterday, and if you're poor like me, listen up. I've just been really busy, and not just in a this-is-just-my-excuse-for-not-blogging amorphous busy way. I have been trying my very hardest to earn money. I am making some money very soon from selling some artwork, which is pretty freaking exciting. I made the following for a guy at my church.
And apparently everyone who sees it loves it, which is honestly pretty mind-blowing. I mean, I totally love it, and printed out an 8.5 by 11 for my wall, but I'm sort of biased since I made it and everything. So I made an enlarged version and set out to meet my client (I think it's so cool that I have clients now, but secretly, because I am an adult) to get it printed before church on Wednesday night. The first print shop had an issue with their printer where it turned everything vibrantly blue, and not in a good way, in a very very bad, melting your eyeballs out of their sockets sort of way. Luckily, in the University District, and more specifically on the Ave (remember the Ave? It's where all the homeless people and drug dealers hang out, but also where all the cheap places to shop and eat are), there are lots of print shops. So we crossed the street and went to another print shop. Their printer was also having issues, and ended up turning the light blue pink. So they had me fill out a form and they're going to get their printer serviced and give me a call when my artwork is ready to pick up. I posted the picture of it on Facebook, which I have again now, not sure if I told you that. My aunt commented that she wants to buy a print, so I'm making even more money off of it than originally planned. Those prices may seem high, but just remember that I only make a quarter of the total price, since they're printing everything and letting me put my art up for sale without charging me to do so. And while we're talking about art, I'll take the opportunity to inform you that I met with another prospective client yesterday and he is going to pay me by the hour to turn a sketch he did into a computer graphic. So that's cool. It's sort of like a part-time job. But I am still looking for a real part-time job. I applied at a frozen yogurt place a while back and totally nailed the phone interview, so I am waiting for them to let me know when they want the in-person interview. They had me email them dates and times when I'm available. I also filled out an application for Goodwill yesterday, which would be a pretty cool place to work. After my last post, I bought three workplace-appropriate jacket type things, two blouses, one pair of flats, and a little black dress that is not for work but I hear that it's something all women should have. I don't feel like taking pictures right now, so use your imagination. I'm not describing them either. Deal with it.
I promised the guys that my blog will not turn into a fashion blog and that I would blog about football, and I will, after the weekend, since that's when football is on. Brief recap: University of Washington (that's where I went and where G is getting his master's) Huskies beat the California Bears 31-23 last Saturday. The refs were awful, but what else is new. Seahawks beat Cardinals 13-10 last Saturday. Next week the football recap will be better, and will include comments on the games, but this is it for now. Count yourself lucky you get this much. There are starving children in Africa who don't even know what a football is, so finish your vegetables. Wait, what?
If you want to watch a hilarious movie, I highly recommend "Shriek if you Know what I did Friday the 13th". It's on Netflix. You will not be disappointed, probably. It's a horror movie parody laden with written gags that make it even funnier.
I will probably blog again on Monday or Tuesday. I spend the weekends with G, mostly watching football. But this weekend is extra-special, because it is our one-month anniversary, which to most of you is like no time at all, but he's my first boyfriend ever, so it's a big deal for me. He's taking me out to dinner. And then on Sunday it's his niece's 5th birthday.
I also have an idea for two funny cartoons, so maybe I'll finish them by next time. Maybe not. That's all for now.
