Friday Fashion: Let's Pretend It's Still Friday

Lace Dress

Lace Dress by jaythejedi featuring a quilted moto jacket

I bought this lace dress from Wet Seal and I am loving it  (It's sold out now.).  It has short sleeves so it will work in any weather, and right now it's fall, which means layers!  I've been wearing it with my brown "leather" jacket and brown motorcycle boots, which are different than the ones in this collage.  I actually bought the jacket brand new from Wish and so far it's lasted me through a full year no problem, completely worth the $50 I spent for it.  I thrifted the boots from Goodwill for $15 (and later discovered they would have cost me $300 new!) and they are my go-to boots.  I want to get a satchel but I haven't yet, so I carry either my big camo skulls bag or my brown crossbody bag and wear jewelry that I made myself, such as my bee key necklace, which I originally made with the intention to sell it in my shop, but I decided to keep it for myself.  That's one of the perks of making jewelry.

Lately I've been slightly obsessed with lace dresses (like for the past year!), so I finally bought this one.  And yesterday I thrifted another one from Buffalo Exchange.  That one is a black body-con style dress that makes me feel like I look amazing (for just $15, not bad!).  And while I probably won't have any reason to wear it for a long time, I'll definitely wear it dressed down with an oversized cardigan in the meantime.

Wishing For and Wished For

I've been wishing for some things lately, and allowed myself to purchase some of them.  These are a few of the things on my wish/wished list.

1. Dress-Center.com: circus style leggings 2. ThredUp: strapless dress 3. SammyDress.com: short sleeve lace dress 4. SammyDress.com: high low peplum top 5. Etsy: reversible pixel heart necklace 6. Dress-Center.com: tiered dress 7. SammyDress.com: pale green lace dress 8. Etsy: Star Wars hair bow 9. Cage City: striped skater skirt 10. Atterley Road: peplum top 11. Thinkgeek: Star Wars tee shirt 12. Cage City: polka dot dress

Some of those are affiliate links (meaning I'll get a % commission if you buy from the site through those links) but these are all really products I want.  I only share stuff that I really truly love.  I bought the Star Wars shirt, the Star Wars bow, and the reversible pixel hearts necklace, and I got them all in the mail today except the necklace, which I'm so excited for.  Since I make jewelry for a living, I never buy jewelry unless it's super amazing, and this necklace is definitely super amazing.  And that bow?  It's the fifth one I've bought from that seller on Etsy.  She's one of the best sellers I've done business with there and I will continue to turn to her for all of my cute hair bow needs.  In fact, I'm so in love with her stuff that I'm going to dedicate a whole post to her shop in the future.

Okay, let me tell you about some of the sites I'm partnering with.  You may have seen the name ThredUp on other blogs lately (I have.)  It's a pretty cool concept that's pretty much an online thrift store.  You can even sell them your own gently used clothing.  Just like any thrift store, not everything is super fashionable or on trend, but there are some super cute things for low prices, and there is new stuff added all of the time.  I really really love that strapless dress I found there.  How cute would it be under a blazer or cardigan (I'm planning ahead for fall), plus it's great for this hot Seattle weather that's been happening lately.  SammyDress.com and Dress-Center.com are both pretty great sites for cute clothing at amazing bargain prices.  I haven't purchased from either of them yet, but when I have shopped on similar sites in the past the clothing has always been high-quality and I've been astounded that I got it for such a low price.  Of the two, SammyDress.com is definitely the one with the lowest prices.  I'm super excited to share more of these brands with you and at some point I will buy things from them and let you know how I like their products and service and all that.

Friday Fashion: My Summer Fashion Wishlist

Summer Fashion Wishlist

I have a long wishlist, but these are a few of the items that I wouldn't mind showing up in my closet.  I want a flower crown so badly!  It would be great to wear with a colorful lace dress.  I like them paired with bright flats in contrasting colors.  I like these flats because they're my favorite color and my current brightly colored flats are super close to dead (but I still wear them anyway).  I'm always a fan of cute floral printed blouses, and this is one of my favorites.  Foxes are one of my current obsessions and I don't have any fox stuff at all!  This ring would be a great to remedy this problem.  Hats have always been an obsession of mine and this hat would be perfect for exploring and going on adventures!  I also really want a satchel.  This one has lots of color and personality, and it's big enough to hold the essentials, including my wallet, book, and camera.  I love the bright summery colors on this striped top and I love horizontal stripes, well any stripes actually.  Horizontal, vertical, diagonal; I'm not picky.  And this skirt!  I would wear it with so many things!  It's twirly and asymmetrical and amazing and I adore it.

So if I had everything I wanted in my wardrobe, it would definitely contain all of these things, plus a lot more.

Friday Fashion: Is it Winter Yet?

I wore this outfit today to go sell books and look fashionable while giving my resume to fashion places.  The bookstore only bought one book : (  Brave and unedited pictures once again.

hat: Wish (it has a pom pom on top but you can't see it in the picture, yellow shirt: Walmart (I got it in high school), dress: yard sale for just $6, tights: eBay (they're really good tights, not just really good for $5), boots: Goodwill

Friday Fashion: A Hippy Punk Outfit and Some New Clothes

If I were to describe my personal style, I would say that I like to wear more feminine things with more edgy things, usually things that most people wouldn't put together.  G calls my style "Hippy Punk" and I think that is a pretty accurate term for it.  Before I show you this outfit that a wore a couple of weeks ago, let me inform you that G's reaction was to tell me that it's exactly the sort of thing I would wear, immediately followed by, "You need a new outfit."  Boys.

I didn't edit this picture and that is my right as an American citizen. So deal with it.
Also, that empty soda box was my ex-roommates. This is from before the move.

Look at this photo that was accidentally zoomed in when I thought
it was zoomed out all the way.  I'm so accidentally artsy.

Here you can see my shirt better.  So many instruments on it, but I only
play one of them, unless there's a flute somewhere I didn't see.

And the new flats which make this outfit lean much more to the feminine side.

Another gem of a fashion comment from G, about my new plaid Airwalks in fantastic bright colors: "Those are the cutest ugly shoes I've ever seen."  When I asked him what he meant, he said that he wouldn't wear them.  I said I hoped not because they're clearly girl shoes and even have a some pink stripes in the plaid.  He said it was a light purple stripe.  It's not; it's pink, magenta to be exact.

And here are the lovely new (to me) clothes that I bought when I was visiting my family.

My mom found me this amazing little black lace dress at a yard sale for just $2!  And she bought it for me after I tried it on over my clothes.  And it fits me perfectly!!!  I found this blazer at Salvation army.  I think it also cost me a whole $2, and it's like new.  I found these jeans at a yard sale.  The owner never wore them because they were too long for her, and they were skinny jeans so she couldn't hem them.  They cost me a whole 50 cents.  For brand new jeans.  That have awesome studded details and fit me really well.
