3 Things you Might be Surprised I Enjoy

Unless you've been here for awhile, the following things I enjoy might surprise you.

1. cars and car shows:  I don't drive but I like cars and car shows.  My dad is a mechanic and it's something I grew up with.  I also like learning how to work on cars, like when I learned how to do an oil change last time I went home to visit my parents.  My dad is really fun at car shows because he wants to see what's under the hood on everything...even if it's at an antique auto museum and the cars are behind velvet ropes.

my first oil change
2. football: I grew up watching football with my dad and my brother.  I asked a million questions and must have been so annoying, but they put up with it because then they got to watch the game.  It was a 3-1 vote to have the game on instead of 2-2 if I hadn't liked football.  My mom doesn't like football and will usually only watch part of the Super Bowl.  I haven't missed a Seahawks game all season.  I get really into it and yell at the TV and everything.  I know they can't hear me but it makes me feel better to yell at the refs.

3. woodworking: This is the one that I don't think any of you know about.  In high school, wood shop was one of my favorite classes.  I love the smell of fresh-cut boards and getting to make something really cool that would have cost a lot of money to buy.  Over the course of three wood shop classes I made three shelves, one large pine storage box, two big planter boxes for my mom, and a recipe box for my mom.  I really miss woodworking, and I was lucky to attend the high school with the best wood shop in Washington state.

What interests do you have that might surprise people?

I'm Still Loved

I received my third Liebster Award today.  This time it was from The Cozy Pink Cottage.  Thank you for the award and for liking my blog : )  I am a rebel who likes to break the rules for blog awards so the only part I'm doing is answering the questions.  I'm not making up new ones or anything.  As far as passing the award on to other deserving people, if you want one, take it.

The Questions:

1. What was the last book you read? Hideaway by Dean Koontz; It was so good, as most Dean Koontz books are.
2. If you could travel anywhere in the world money not being an issue, where would you go?  Finland; they have a huge metal (music) festival and a really cool art festival that I want to go to at some point in my life; It's on my bucket list.

3.What is the most exotic thing you have eaten? probably frog legs

4.What's your favorite drink at Starbucks? I never go to Starbucks because it costs money which I do not have, so I don't know.  If they have chai lattes, then it's that.

5.Summer/ Fall/ Winter/ Spring?  Spring or Fall; I'm not a fan of extreme temperatures.

6.What do you love most about blogging? all of the people I get to know who I would never have "met" otherwise

7.Who is your favorite artist? Painter, Photographer etc..  Wirrow

8.Three words that best describe you? creative, hard-working, quirky

9.If you could start all over in life, Would you change anything? No, because the decisions I have made have led me to be where I am now, and while I may not be in the best place in my life right now, I wouldn't change it for anything.

10.Coke or Pepsi? neither; I rarely drink soda but if I do it's root beer, cream soda, or orange soda

11.Whats the one beauty product you can't live without? chapstick, because my lips get really chapped; fun fact: G calls lipstick, lip gloss, and chapstick "wax" and he doesn't like them but I wear them anyway because I'm a girl and that is my right.

These Are a Few of My Favorite Things

Fun fact: I have never watched "The Sound of Music" in its entirety, though I have watched the first hour or so on at least five different occasions.  Bonus fact: Some words never looked like they're spelled right no matter how I spell them; these include "teriyaki" and "occasion".

Today is the first time in a long time that I was about to write a blog post and couldn't think of what to write about.  With this posting every single day thing, it was bound to happen sometime.  So I decided to just make a list of my favorite things.  Maybe you'll get a little bit more insight into who I am or maybe you'll just think I'm really weird.  Either one is fine with me.  So, in no particular order, these are a few of my favorite things: zombie movies, Tim Burton movies, The Fifth Element, Star Wars original trilogy not the prequels, ice cream, chocolate, dark chocolate, Dove Promises (the squares of chocolate with nice stuff written on the inside of the wrapper), drinks that have words on the inside of the lid (these include Sobe and Snapple, despite the fact that the Sobe words rarely makes sense), books that make me laugh out loud (especially ones by Douglas Adams and Dean Koontz): bonus points if I'm in public and people look at me like I'm insane and then I just feel sorry for them that they've never read a funny book, reading in general, dark comedy, hacky sacking in the rain, hot chocolate and cozy blankets, cuddling, holding hands, making yummy smoothies, drinking yummy smoothies, Rocksmith, my leather jacket, dressing like a badass, studs and lace, having a unique style, sunsets and sunrises, when the world is covered in snow and everything seems wonderful, seeing little kids play, hearing little kids laugh, anything mango flavored, pumpkin cream cheese, Philly cheesesteak, long walks on the beach (it's a cliche for a reason), Zelda and Mario games, fedoras, hats in general, thrifting, getting awesome deals, going for walks to nowhere in particular and then getting sort of lost and then discovering a park on the way back, swimming, swinging, finding shapes in clouds, taking pictures, rocking out to Rise Against while I'm showering, How I Met Your Mother, doing cartwheels, making daisy chains, blowing bubbles, hula hooping (did you know that I can do the macarena while hula hooping without the hula hoop falling? because I totally can), a comfy bed at the end of a long day, banana chips, Converse, scratch tickets, online window shopping, finding a show or movie I really want to see on Netflix, clothes with ruffles or bows or flower print, wearing bright colors, morning fog, rainbows, when you listen to music that perfectly fits your mood, free food, Indian food (especially mango curry), and getting mail.  Those are a few of my favorite things.  What are some of yours?
