Friday Fashion: What to Wear to Target

We went to Target and Ross earlier this week because we needed some things and actually have money to spend on things now that we share a room.  The bus took forever to get to the stop so we entertained ourselves by taking selfies and outfit photos while we waited.

This is what happens when I suggest that we take a picture with only half of our faces in the photo.

so fashion-y

Balancing weirdly is one of my go-to poses.

bag and top: thrifted | boots and flannel: Valley of Roses Boutique |
jeans and hair bow: Forever 21 | necklace: Honeybee Alley

Jordan and I bought a total of 5 vintage flannel shirts from Valley of Roses Boutique for under $100 total.  This is one of those shirts.  The one Jordan is wearing in the first picture is another one.  We share them because they fit both of us, which is really cool.  My old jeans have been wearing out lately and two pairs have zippers that will not stay up so I bought some new jeans.  Forever 21 is the only company I can buy jeans from online and know that they'll fit so I went there first.  I found these ones and two other pairs for under $8 each!  And I bought this cute hair bow too because it was just 99 cents and I couldn't resist.

Friday Fashion: What to Wear to the Post Office

I am sure that some of you have needed to go to the post office.  Maybe you had to mail a letter, or pick up a package, or buy some stamps.  And maybe you wondered, 'What does a stylish lady (or dapper gentleman) such as myself wear to the post office?!' Well fear not. I am here to answer your question.  You are no longer expected to get dressed up in your Sunday Best for a trip to the post office.  It's not like going to the movies or the airport.  You can actually just wear whatever you have on.  I'll just give you a minute while that sinks in.  Has the concept satisfactorily saturated your grey matter? Great, then I can move on.  As I said, you can wear anything you like to the post office.  When you get dressed, just treat it like a trip to the grocery store, meaning you can wear a baseball cap, sweats, a baggy tee shirt, and no makeup.  (Disclaimer: I don't wear that stuff to the grocery store. I'm trying to be somewhat humorous and you're ruining that by making me explain myself.)  Or if you're feeling like looking like you aren't either homeless or a celebrity trying not to be recognized, you can do what I did.  I just thought of the color scheme on air mail envelopes and put together my outfit based on that.  (That's not really true, but I did accidentally use those colors.)  If you aren't aware, air mail envelopes have red and blue diagonal stripes around the borders.  I think it's to say, this mail is patriotic!  I didn't have anything with red and blue diagonal stripes, so I went with a more subtle approach.  I used a blue long sleeved shirt layerd under a dress which had some of the same shade of blue in the pattern, then layered a red coat over the top.  But surely you don't want to here me blather on about that, so just look at the pictures.

You can't tell because I took this picture at night, but my thumbnail has blue and purple glitter on it.
I'll pretend that I did that purpose so it would match my dress.

And as an added bonus, this is the sort of outfit that you should wear to the park, especially if you live in Seattle. The cardigan layer is a must with our weather, which goes from sunny one minute to pouring rain the next.I would really love to wear this outfit, especially the shoes.  I love brightly colored shoes and orange is my favorite color.

And if you want to be oh-so-stylish like me, don't forget to enter my giveaway to win a piece of jewelry that I made.
