Birthday Recap
It was my 22nd birthday on Tuesday. The night before G took me to get a burger, fries, and a shake at Blue Moon Burgers. My burger was huge! (as you can see from the picture) It was called The Code Blue and had two hamburger patties, cheese, lots of bacon, Blue Moon Sauce, onions and peanut butter! It sounds like a weird combination but somehow the onions and peanut butter balanced out perfectly. I also had sweet potato fries and a strawberry milkshake. It was so good! The burger had a gluten-free brioche bun that was so good I wouldn't have know it was gluten-free if I hadn't specified three times that everything needed to be gluten-free.
Then on my birthday I worked from 9 until 1, then went to Trophy Cupcake on my way home to get a gluten-free red velvet cupcake. Then I came home and baked myself a birthday cake. I used Bob's Red Mill gluten-free chocolate cake mix and it turned out so moist and delicious. Everyone loved it and even N, who said he isn't a cake person but would one bite, ate five bites. After that I just hung out with my friends and then they gave me a "birthday card" they got me. It was a cardboard cutout of my favorite Doctor from Doctor Who, Matt Smith! My housemates all signed the back of it. It's both like a really amazing gift and a prank, because before I leaned it against the wall I would see it out of the corner of my eye and get startled because I thought there was someone in my room. I can also use it for additional necklace storage later on, if I need it. And what better place for The Doctor than by my outer space art?!
All in all it was a great birthday.
Do you watch Doctor Who? Who's your favorite Doctor?

Blog and Shop of the Month: Silly and Adorable
My Blog of the Month for this month is someone who I've been following for probably over a year. She's a super cool girl, who has lots of mental and physical strength. She blogs about her life, which includes web design and circus performing. I love her fashion sense. One of the things I love about her is that although she has a fairly large blog following she still takes the time to get to know her readers and answer their questions. If you haven't guessed by now, I'm talking about Sarah from SillyGrrl. She's one of my favorite bloggers. She also just released an e-book filled with coding and design tips for bloggers. She's an all-around super awesome person who you should get to know, if you haven't yet.
I discovered this month's Shop of the Month through Pinterest. (Have I mentioned how much I love Pinterest?!) She makes super awesome nerdy products that I love. The Pac Man purse drew me in and the Zelda purses, Chain Chomp purse, and zombie purse (with blood spatter bow!) kept me there. And she has 74 sales, which is higher than 50, but I make the rules here and I can break them if I want to! Jen is the cool lady behind Disturbingly Adorable. She makes and sells nerdy (and other awesome) purses, pouches, scarves, shirts, jewelry, and underwear. And fellow Whovians, there's a purse featuring the cutest Dr. Who alien ever! And besides being amazing, all of the Disturbingly Adorable products are very reasonably priced. Plus, how great is that name?! I love it. Seriously.
So go check out these ladies are their great work, because they're really cool and they do great work.

Friday Fashion: What to Wear When You're Being Attacked by a Dalek
When we went to the EMP, my favorite exhibit was the Icons of Science Fiction exhibit. And my favorite part of the science fiction exhibit was that they had a Dalek! For those of you who don't watch Doctor Who, a Dalek is one of the many bad guys from that show. So I present to you What to Wear when Being Attacked by a Dalek.
So that's how I got attacked by a Dalek, but then defeated it and lived to see the rest of the exibits, all while stylishly dressed.

| There are times in life where you will be happily minding your own business. Then you might turn a corner and be confronted by a Dalek. |
| Also not pictured: my shoes. |

Stillness
The air is so still and not a person is in sight, not even an animal or insect. No life at all. Not a single sound. It feels like something is brewing. Maybe a thunderstorm. Maybe a zombie apocalypse. I don't know what exactly, but definitely something. I get back to my apartment and the crocuses outside have bloomed. In the one hour that I was gone. It feels like time has been sped up while I was away. I think that I've just been watching too much Doctor Who. But I also think there's no such thing as too much Doctor Who.
