Pictures of Me Photodump-ish Post

Sometimes when I'm bored or procrastinating or in a sad mood I take random silly photos of myself. Here are some of them from lately.

My mom bought me a new printer since my old one stopped working, and the box was so huge that I knew I would fit in it.  So then I did.  Because obviously.

Just Checking In

Hi everyone.  I just wanted to let you all know that I've had the flu since Monday night, so I haven't really been doing anything except drinking fluids, blowing my nose, watching Netflix, and sleeping.

But I feel bad for neglecting you guys, so here's a picture from a week or two ago.

According to Google+ I look like a 12 year-old in this picture.
I got my Star Wars shirt from ThinkGeek and it's pretty perfect.  And taking pictures of yourself while hula hooping without self-timer is difficult.

Oh, and also! the next three orders from my Etsy shop will come with a free 3 x 5 print.

This is one of my prints.

Wanting Structure

One of the reasons that I'm so happy to finally be returning to work is that I want to have a little bit of structure in my life again.  For the most part I'm a free spirit, happy to do my own thing.  I enjoy being able to do whatever I want, whenever I want.  But during this time that I haven't been working, I have been crazy busy trying to everything possible to make enough money to pay my rent each month.  I spend every waking moment trying to be super productive, even to the point of not showering sometimes because it isn't productive.  I mean, I would never ever not shower because that's gross.  Um, yeah, that's totally what I meant...  Anyway I am really looking forward to returning to work and some structure because I might actually allow myself to have some free time now.  Because seriously, I have even been eating while working.  The only time that I'm awake and not trying to be productive lately is when I'm doing my yoga, except for this weekend when I went to Olympic Sculpture Park.

I'm so Emotional

The other day I took a break from shooting my KROD video and preparing for my yard sale, and I did a silly photo shoot. Feel free to make up your own captions.  Also feel free to share those captions in the comments : )

Tomorrow, I'll share some more pictures in a short post, but don't worry, none of them are of my face.  There is one of my eyes though, so sue me.  But don't actually sue me, because I don't have a lot of money.

Product Reviews: Products I'm Loving

I purchased some new beauty products a few weeks ago.  I bought them all with my own money, and have not been compensated in any way for this post.  One of them was something that is fairly new and everyone online has been raving about how wonderful it is.  Another was something that seems too good to be true, that I bought to see if it might actually work.

The products are: Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter, Almay Clear Complexion Foundation, and Simple exfoliating facial wipes.

I won't make you wait in suspense. I love every single one of these products (in case you couldn't tell from the title).  I can't even pick a favorite, I love them all so much.

The exfoliating wipes are so gentle and soothing on my skin that I will never go back to harsh exfoliating scrubs.  They have Pro-vitamin B5, Vitamin E, and aloe vera.  They make my skin feel smooth and refreshed, and they also moisturize.  Also, there are no dyes or perfumes that can irritate your skin.  They smell really good and refreshing anyway, because of the aloe vera.  I use them every day, morning and evening.

The Almay clear complexion foundation sounds way too good to be true.  A foundation that makes your skin clearer?!  It couldn't possibly work.  But it does!  It contains salicylic acid which is an ingredient in most acne clearing products.  The only thing is that it can be really drying if you keep using your usual acne clearing product as well.  After using this foundation my skin has never been clearer, well at least not since before I went through puberty.  It covers fairly well, but doesn't feel at all heavy.  It stays put all day too, which is great.  It dispenses easily through a pump, and a little bit goes a long way.  I only use about three pumps to cover my whole face.

The Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter has been raved about by beauty bloggers and regular girls alike, all over the internet, so I had to try it for myself.  I have severely chapped lips year round, so I have to use chapstick constantly.  It helps quite a bit, but not as much as I'd like.  The Revlon Lip Butter actually moisturizes my lips better than chapstick.  It leaves them feeling soft and healthy.  I originally bought the Red Velvet shade but it was way too dark for me.  I looked like I was either a wannabe goth/emo or I had a vampire fetish.  So I went on eBay and found the shade I really wanted, which they had been sold out of at Rite Aid, brand new for less than I had paid for the other one.  It is the Tutti Frutti shade, which is sort of a coral color.  The color is vibrant and long-lasting and I love it.  I don't ever want to use a different lipstick, maybe a different shade of the Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter, but never a different type of lipstick.

This is my face after using the exfoliating wipes, then applying the foudation and lipstick,
with no other makeup at all.  The lipstick is a little oranger in real life.

So I guess that's it.  I give every single one of these products 5 stars out of 5, and will definitely purchase every one of them again in the future, many many times.  I also highly recommend them to everybody.

Friday Fashion: Guess the Dress Edition

I told you I would do this post today, so I am. Two posts in one day for you. I haven't been this generous in a while.  Yesterday, and by yesterday, I of course mean Wednesday, I went to thrift stores on The Ave and tried on some clothes. And I took pictures of everything, because most of it was really cute and it was so hard to choose and I was curious what you guys would think that I got.  Okay, so I will tell you that I got the jeans.  They're so awesome, how could I not?!  And I also got two dresses.  But which ones do you think I bought?  I'm just curious to see what you think I would get based on my style that I've shared on here in the past.  So without further ado, here are the pictures.  (And I'll tell you which ones I bought next Friday, after you've had plenty of time to guess.)

Dress number one has an elastic waist which you might
remember is a thing that I am not particularly fond of.

But the back has a cut-out and is quite unique
with the top of the back being fluttery.

And just look at this adorable owl print!

Dress 2 is a high-low dress which is something I'm still making my mind up about.
It is light blue with a hot pink zigzag pattern.
It's kind of see-through but would be fine if I wore something under it.
It's kind of shapeless, but would look fine with a belted waist.

Dress 3 has a really cute sweetheart cut top.
It also has a really twirly skirt in a flower print.

Dress 4 has ruffles and polka dots, is a
bright color, and has pockets.
Not only are there pockets, but they're really cool pockets.
It also has a very twirly skirt.

Dress 5 has a purple, pink, and white bird print on a black background.
It also has a very twirly skirt.

Dress 6 has more of an old-fashioned print with lots of ruffles and lace.
However the skirt is fantastically twirly and the neckline is higher
so I wouldn't have to worry that people could see down my top when I bend over.

Dress 7 also has a lot of great ruffles.
It also has a lower neckline than I'm used to.
And it's mostly black.

Dress 8 definitely had the most comfortable fabric,
sort of a lightweight sweatshirt material.
It has a pattern of blue and pink splotches,
which kind of reminds me of watercolors.

The back has two straps across, which made it confusing to put on.
It is also the only one that isn't sleeveless.

So which dresses do you think I bought? Tell me in the comments below.  I bought two dresses, and I was looking for more dresses that I could wear for everyday.  That is your clue.  There is one more clue in yesterday's blog post, if you can find it.

And here are the pants I bought.  I love them a ton.  I showed them to G when I Skyped with him yesterday and he thought the pattern was weird, but he liked the tightness and the thigh cuts, which is exactly what I expected.  They're brand new Hot Topic brand and I got a great deal on them at Buffalo Exchange.  They still had the original tags and the size sticker on the leg.

forgot to turn off the flash but whatever, I do what I want

Taking pictures of my new pants is higher priority than making the bed.
I really like how they look with my green scribble shirt, as well as how they look with the red zebra print shirt.  But they would also look good with lots of my other shirts.  So there you have it.  Make sure to guess the dresses, and I'll tell you which ones I bought next Friday.

What You Missed

Prepare yourselves, ladies and gentlemen and people who actually read my blog, for a very picture heavy post.  These are the things I did during the time I took off from blogging, while housesitting for G, without internet.

walked around without pants on, which I can't do at my place since I have roommates

learned a new hairstyle

took silly pictures in G's new full-length ginormous mirror

more silly pictures

more silly pictures

got my new super adorable $1 bunny earrings from eBay

took more silly pictures; you can see in this one how I have to duct tape
the battery door on my camera shut, but it doesn't always work

enjoyed some spring weather complete with blue skies

ate some yummy Lean Cusine and made lots of tasty smoothies

admired G's awesome dino mug

Not pictured: watched about a billion and one romantic comedies, ate lots of ice cream, was able to connect to an unsecured internet network for only about 5 minutes a day before it kicked me off and wouldn't allow me on until the next day, walked 24 blocks when it wasn't quite as warm outside as it appeared to be, got food poisoning from some Lean Cuisine and was miserable, didn't get to read blogs, finished two books.

And guess what else? G came back from his first ever trip to Vegas with $25 more than he left with!  He did pretty well at blackjack.  Oh, and my wrist is all better now : )

New Look Same Me

While you were gone, or rather while I was gone (I didn't go anywhere, I just didn't have Internet), I got my bifocals in the mail.  I love them and all their purple leopard printed goodness.  I also got the first professional haircut I've had in three years.  It makes me feel sophisticated and grown up.  So here are pictures of those things.

Now I have to go catch the bus in the pouring rain to ride 2 hours to (hopefully my last) gum follw-up appointment.  I plan to eat teryiaki afterward and then buy some lottery tickets for G, because he gave me money to do that with and he's determined we're going to win the Mega Millions.

Love Yourself 2012

I have no idea if this is already a thing or not, but if it isn't it should be.  I need to focus on the positive things about myself instead of the negative ones.  And there are a ton of things I hate about my body, believe me.  G recently said that I have such a great body, I should be a bikini barista.  While I don't plan on becoming a bikini barista ever, I guess I do have a pretty great body.  So I have decided to love myself for how I look and not judge myself for not looking the way I think I should.  I'm not going to tag anyone in this post or anything, but if you do want to participate, you can either post about this on your own blog or just leave me a comment saying at least one thing you love about your body.  This is by means for girls only.  Guys can participate too.  I'll  go first: I love my long strong legs.  Your turn.

Some Pictures...

...that I haven't found a way to implement into posts but still want to share anyway

new street art spotted last time I went to the gum specialist,
at the same bus stop as the Guy Fawkes mask AKA V for Vendetta street art
which has sadly been painted over now

you might notice that I kind of love this hat

a sort of failed attempt at taking a picture of the cool smoke after I blew out my candle

I won't have these glasses for much longer because I finally ordered bifocals
To combat the old lady-ness of wearing bifocals, I got purple leopard print ones.
